nobel intent.

an army of lamps light the room
as i stare through you

i am not truly looking
because i am thinking about the universe
and space and time

and a point of singularity

i stare through your jaw of jello
atomic clouds erupt from your lips
mouthing silent words searching for answers

such wishful thinking
all for nothing i'm afraid
because no one knows what really happened
before the big bang
anyway.

a room in a house in a storm: 11 days later.

i have been here before
in this place

in this light
cream room

where words swirl
and bite, ripping through flesh

with their hungry little teeth
i am sure

i have been here before
standing in this very place

as rain pelts glass, and
lightning creates blankets of white

like a polaroid flashbulb exploding
for the longest second in the world.

sometimes doing the right thing is so difficult
because even the right thing seems wrong.

eclipse.

tonight a red moon rises
turning shades of brilliant copper
and i wonder if

my dreams will be red, too.
